Evaluation 3- What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The media institution I'm going to use to distribute my media products are either Bauer or IPC. I'm going to go with one of these two distributor because they already produce magazines similar to my own. They are both two of the most well known and successful company globally so this will help my magazine sell even more because of the name of the company. Bauer already publish Kerrang magazine which is very similar to my magazine 'SoundCheck' so I know that they will support my magazine. I think going with a company like IPC Media or Bauer is better compared to self-published because a alternative magazine like mine is going to need to be advertised more seeing as it's aimed towards a specific target audience so It will be difficult to get my magazine known  by myself. 
I also think using one of these big UK distributors will help also because it means my magazine will be sold in leading supermarkets and shops such a WHSmiths etc With help from these companies I will start a website for the magazine where the magazine will be able to be sold online if my target audience are unable to go out and buy it. Using one of these big companies also means that the website will look glossy and professional because they will want to help sell SoundCheck.  I will also have sister products such as a music channel for music that is featured in my magazine, radio show and merchandise. I know that magazines such as Kerrang have been successful doing this as Kerrang have all three by being with a company like Bauer.
