Moodboard of my target audience

This is my moodboard of the things my targeted audience for my magazine are interested in. To help me with this I thought about what kind of stuff im interested in as im a reader of kerrang magazine, rock sound etc so im similar to what my targeted audience would be like.
I Involved things liek what kind of drink they would drink, and the type of clothes they'd wear etc. Readers of rock magazines are likely to have tattoos so I put a picture of rock screamer, Oli Skyes of Bring Me The Horizon on there, because not only has he got lots of tattoos which Is what I was trying to portray, but he's also a reader of rock magazines so this backs up my point of my target audience having tattoos.

Font Moodboard

I chose these fonts because I want to keep in the style of the font on Kerrang magazine but with a feminine feel to it. I'm definately going to go with a bold font so it stands out more and It's clear to read.  I'm going to chose a font that connotes with a rebellious attitude that come with magazines like Kerrang and Rock Sound.  The fonts that stand out to me that most are 'You are loved', 'Shredded' and 'Dirty ego' because they're bold, easy to read and fits in with the style of magazine im going to create.

Music magazines: Genre & Representation

The main audience for music magazines are male. Music magazines are dominated by a male audience; NME(65%), Kerrang(60%), Metal Hammer(66%), Mixmag(72%). The look of these magazines are quite masculine and not very feminine at all, which isnt very appealing for a female audience. But because females still want to read about they're favourite bands they buy these magazines because they're the only magazines that are available for this genre of music.

Ideas for my new music magazine

The magazine I'm going to create is going to be a rock/metal magazine aimed at 14+ years old for both females and males. There are already many existing magazines of this type such as 'Kerrang' and 'Rock Sound' which are the 2 most well known rock magazine's in the UK. I think this proves that my magazine will do well as these magazines sell thousands of copies every week which proves people are interested in them as most magazines that are available are for more mainstream and chart music.
To make it stand out from the rest, I'm going to feature things that other magazines of this genre don't feature such as fashion but only fashion in rock as the audience are going to be rock fans so this type of clothing will appeal to them more. I'm going to use either a black, red, white, yellow & red colour theme OR black, white, blue & red. I've chosen these colours because they're bright and stand out.  I'm going to make the mast head bold and stand out so it attracts people, I'm also going to name my magazine after something that's involved in rock music somehow, for example; Amplifier, Amped, Unplugged etc
